Linda L. Hoffstatter

Linda Lee Conrad Hoffstatter, 63, of Moline, died on Saturday, March 26, 2011, with her husband, children, and mother at her side. Her five-year battle with breast cancer ended peacefully and without pain in Scottsdale, Ariz., while visiting her daughter.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330-13th St., Moline. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday following the funeral at Woodhull Cemetery, Woodhull, for anyone who wishes to attend. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the family.
Linda was born on Jan. 6, 1948, to Charles "Emery" and Betty Conrad. She grew up in Woodhull. After graduating from Alwood High School, Linda attended beauty school. She then owned and operated her own beauty salon.
In 1967, she met her future husband, John Hoffstatter, of Keokuk, Iowa. The couple married on April 6, 1968. This past year they celebrated their 42nd anniversary.
Blessed with four children, Brynn, Todd, Tara and Michael, the family ultimately settled in Moline, in 1974. Linda was very active in her childrens' school, including the PTA. She was also a member of PEO and volunteered at the hospital for many years. Linda loved spending quality time with her family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes included attending various sporting events and functions of her children and grandchildren. She was very social, enjoying her morning coffee girls and weekly dinners with close friends. Linda was best known for her grace, generosity and elegance.
Linda is survived by her husband, John; mother, Betty Conrad; children and their spouses, Brian and Brynn Pauwels, Moline, Todd and Stephanie Hoffstatter, Moline, Jamie and Tara Hurtado, Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael Hoffstatter, Rock Island. Her five grandchildren Jordyn Elder and Jacob Pauwels; Lauryn and Davis Hoffstatter; and Jonathan Hurtado, also survive her and will dearly miss her. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles "Emery" Conrad.
