Linda Long

November 6, 1936 — September 11, 2017

Linda Long, 80, of Moline, IL, died Monday, September 11, 2017, at home.

Burial will be at Harris Cemetery in Table Grove, IL, at a later date.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.

Linda was born in the small town of Table Grove, IL, on November 6, 1936 to Clarence and Gladys Callahan Fawcett.  She attended V.I.T. High School in Table Grove and graduated in 1954.

In 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Marty Long in San Francisco, CA and they later made their home in Peoria, IL.  Linda is survived by her husband of many, many years.  Through trials and blessings, we made it Marty.  Thank you for a wonderful life.

Linda is survived by her beloved children: Max and Ginger Long, Brian and April Long and Marta and John Walejewski, grandsons: Wes, Brad, Cameron and Mason Long and Nik and Josh Walejewski and great-grandson Fox Long.  Also surviving are sisters, Zelda Brignall of Illinois and Mary Carmody of Texas, and sister-in-law Mary Lou Long of Illinois.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and very dear friends, Donna Farr and Ellen Tingley.  The presence of these family members and friends has enriched her life.

Linda enjoyed attending her high school reunions with her long-time friends and particularly attending Coffee Break at the First Christian Reformed Church is Oskaloosa, IA, and meeting with her co-workers from her working years.  Last, but not least, she enjoyed her many animal friends throughout the years.

Proceeding her were her parents, brothers Don and his wives, Louise and Beverly, Max and his wife Betty of Illinois. Brothers-in-law George Brignall, Bill Camody, Jack Long and Elmer Ehlers; and Sisters-in-law Nancy Ehlers and Jeanette Duncan.  Also preceding were beloved niece Tina Fawcett and beloved nephew Douglass Brignall from Illinois.

Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery in Table Grove, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the Community Church in Table Grove, Illinois or the Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
