Lindsay Burkhead, 22, of Moline, died unexpectedly of natural causes early Sunday morning in East Lansing, MI while visiting friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 Friday October 15, 2004 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Alleman High School or T.E.C.
Lindsay was born November 14, 1981 in Moline. She was the daughter of Jim and Maribeth Burkhead. Lindsay was an honor student at Alleman High School where she participated in softball, volleyball, and basketball.
Lindsay served her community by being involved in T.E.C., loved coaching Alleman volleyball, boating, and dancing with her dad. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family and friends out on the river. Lindsay had been living in Colorado and working as an au pair. She was also a full time college student at Pikes Peak Community College.
Lindsay loved life and life loved her back. She was adored and cherished by everyone and will be deeply missed.
Lindsay is survived by her parents, Jim and Maribeth; two younger brothers, Tim and Josh; younger sister Meghan; Grandpa John Brozovich; special aunt and uncles Pam and Mike Strupp and Mary Burkhead; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including her best friend and cousin Katie Strupp.
Lindsay was preceded in death by her Grandma Bernie, Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Jerry.
