Linnie Evelyn Ash

Linnie Evelyn Ash, 90, of Colona, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 03, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL. She is once again with the love of her life, her husband, F. Earl Ash in Heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at Colona United Methodist Church, 1709 Cleveland Road, Colona, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Dayton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hope Creek Activities Fund or to Colona United Methodist Church.
Linnie was born on May 20, 1926, in Milan, MO, the daughter of Floyd and Lillian Hamilton Parker. She married Earl Ash on March 7, 1947, in Trenton, MO, and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2006.
Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, which she took great pride in. She was a great cook and loved sharing the results, especially her tamales, with family and friends. They loved it, too. Saturday’s were known for finding family and anyone stopping by to be treated to one of her meals.
Besides being with family, friends, and cooking, she loved playing numerous card games, Bingo, and of course, Ship, Captain, Crew with her sons-in-law who would overlook the extra throws of the dice! Also, she was a member of Colona United Methodist Church as well as the Colona Lion’s Club.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Mel) Hayes, Linda (Robert) Baze, Debbie (Mike) Aldene, and Grace (David) Kershaw; grandchildren, Pat Thompson, Jenny (Nick) Mason, Beth (Larry) Bernauer, Brian (Liz) Baze, Ashley (Tom) Moyers, Chris (Jaymie) Aldene, Collin (Heidi) Shutt, Lenley Ash, and Laura (Blake) Bogguess; several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert; brothers, Stanley, Dale, and Carl; sisters, Leila and Lorraine.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Hope Creek Care Center, especially on floor 4-1, for their wonderful care and compassion.
