Lloyd Albert Cutrer

Lloyd Albert Cutrer, 91, of Silvis, IL, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center – Silvis Campus, Silvis, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 13th Street, Moline, IL.  Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.  Burial will be at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal.  Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline or Center for Youth and Family Solutions Adoption Program.

Lloyd was born on January 8, 1926, in McComb, MS, the son of Henry Augusta and Nettie Mae Travis Cutrer.  He married Katherine Dupuy on October 24, 1947, in Brandon, MS.  He worked for Illinois Central Gulf RR for 44 years, retiring in 1985.  Following his retirement, he worked for Jewel, in Olympia Fields and Silvis, IL.

Lloyd was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline and Hope Lutheran in Park Forest, IL.  He was a veteran, having proudly served during WWII in the United States Navy.  He loved golf, reading, and spending time with family.

Above all, Lloyd was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was gentle and kind beyond compare.

Survivors include his wife for nearly 70 years, Katherine Cutrer, Silvis, IL; daughters, Patricia (James) Fox, Geneseo, IL, and Laura (Christopher) Ford, Moline, IL; 5 grandchildren, Britney (Mark) Hittenmiller, Shannon Fox, Nicholas Fox, Aaron Ford, and Jacob Ford; and sister, JoAnn Peets, Brandon, MS

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
