Lloyd P. Schillinger

Lloyd P. Schillinger, 97, of Osco, IL, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Allure of Prophetstown.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2022, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 313 S West St, Cambridge, IL 61238.  Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.  Inurnment will be in Western Township Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church or a charity of your choice in Lloyd’s name.

Lloyd was born on March 2, 1925, in Moline, the son of Paul J. and Lydia (Knochemus) Schillinger. Lloyd lived with his grandparents starting at the age of 6. He married Marjorie M. Westerhof on October 16, 1954, in Davenport. They were married for 67 years, and she preceded him in death on March 2, 2022. Lloyd was previously employed as a laborer for Kent Feeds in Osco and later at MoorMan’s Feed Company in Alpha, retiring in 1990. Lloyd hand-dug the basement of his home in Osco, and he could repair about anything. He liked to work in his garage and loved his vintage green pick-up. Lloyd enjoyed square dancing with Marjorie, traveling, and visiting with all his neighbors, friends and relatives.

Survivors include his children, Ernie (Sara) Schillinger, Johnston, IA, Barry (Lydia) Schillinger, Chatham, IL, Carla (special friend, John Bogart) Schillinger, Osco, IL; grandchildren, Matthew Schillinger, Ryan Papke, Andrew Papke, Hayden Schillinger, and Halley Schillinger; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Papke, grandson, Kevin Papke, wife, parents, three brothers, Floyd, Don and Harold Schillinger, and one sister, Mary Pysson.
