Lois F (Wilson) Merritt

Lois F. Merritt, 81, of East Moline, passed away, Monday, December 7, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Calvary Church 4700 53rd St, Moline, IL.  Visitation will be held 1-hour prior at the church.  The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on Lois’s obituary page at esterdahl.com.  Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Calvary Church.  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Lois was born on August 20, 1939, in Bernie, MO, the daughter of John and Eathel (Losh) Wilson.  She married Donald Merritt on October 5, 1991, in Moline.  He preceded her in death March 23, 2007.  Lois was a member of Calvary Church, Moline where she sang in the choir.  She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and spending time with family.

Survivors include her children, Karen Ahrens, Moline, Kirk (Michelle) Amador, Orion, and Kevin (Rachel) Pointer, Schriever, LA; 6 grandchildren, R.J. Severtsgaard (Anna Lacy), Birmingham, AL, Collin Pointer, Largo, FL, Kyle Pointer, Schriever, LA, Aubre (Floyd) Picou IV, Houma, LA, Ashlee Amador (Morgan), Milan, and Drew Amador (Sarah), Orion; 2 great grandchildren, Wyatt and Delilah; sisters, Geraldine Jarnagin, MO, Mary Lowery, Houma, LA, Sue Lowe, Sikeston, MO, Diane Sontheimer, Houma, LA, Vickie (Ronnie) Shipman, MO; brother, Eugene (Aileen) Wilson, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Merritt; son-in-law, Russell Ahrens; siblings, Doris Jennings, Joan Hansen, Darlene Wilson, J.R. Wilson and twin sister Joyce May Wilson that passed away at birth.
