Lois F. Rabe, age 88, of Silvis, formerly of Port Byron, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 1 to 1:30 p.m. prior to service time. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Cremains will be buried at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal at a later date. Memorials may be made to River Valley District Library, 214 S. Main Street, Port Byron, IL.
Lois F. Rabe was born on June 30, 1923 in Dedham, MA the daughter of Earl W. and Ruth (Farnsworth) Pilling. She married Louis D. Rabe on April 3, 1948 in Bronxville, NY. Lois was a huge genealogy buff and volunteered at The Family History Center. She also enjoyed rock hunting, photography, the river, tow boats, and reading.
