Lois Eileen Wilson, 93, of Moline, died Sunday, January 14, 2018, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with a rosary to be recited by the St. Mary’s Altar & Rosary Society at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline.
Lois was born on February 23, 1924 in Moline, the daughter of Albert John and Minnie (Petersen) Creen. Lois married Paul Wilson on September 6, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline. In her younger years, Lois had worked as a telephone operator and later as a clerk at the Sears, Roebuck and Co. Warehouse in Milan, retiring in 1985. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a Gold Star member of the Altar & Rosary Society and a food pantry volunteer at the church. She loved to babysit her grandchildren. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed working on ceramics. Lois was also a breast cancer survivor.
Survivors include her children, Bill (Cheryl) Wilson, East Moline, Joyce (Robbie) Anderson, East Moline, Cindy Griffin, Moline, Kevin Wilson, Cambridge, Larry (Lori) Wilson, Moline, Donald (Tina) Wilson, Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Quasny, Bev Pilichowski, Sally ( Jack) VanOteghem, all of Moline; brother, Joe (Judy) Creen, Davenport; sisters-in-law, Joan Creen, Moline, Doris Creen, Rapid City, IL; many nieces and nephews and their families and dear friends including a special friend, Linda Reinke, Macomb, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Catherine “Kay’ Ryckeghem, Phyllis Zimmer, Helen Nicholson and Pat Camp; brothers, Eugene, Kenneth, Paul, Ronald, Harold and Albert, Jr.
