Lucille W. Webb, age 82, of Chicago and formerly of Moline died May 1, 2004 at Advocate Trinity Hospital, Chicago, IL.
Funeral services will be at noon on Wednesday, May 5th at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Moline with the Rev. Melvin Grimes officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Moline Animal Shelter. Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Lucille was born on July 25, 1921 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the daughter of Chester and Gertrude Mayhew Wheeler.
Lucille was employed by the New York Store in Moline and later worked for the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1982 after 20 years. Lucille confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was very devoted to her family. In 2001, she moved to Chicago, Illinois to live with her daughter Jackie. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, sewing and fishing.
Survivors include her daughter and spouse Loretta "Jackie" and Felton Thomas of Chicago; grandchildren and spouses Michael and Diane Wright, David Thomas and Mittie Hall and Barbara Saunders; a great-grandchild Joshua Saunders; her caregiver Orene Hamilton and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents one brother and one sister.
