Luetta B. Polk, 84, of East Moline, IL, died Friday, May 27, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016, at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Those wishing to attend should meet at 9:30 a.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.
Luetta was born on April 2, 1932, in Moline, IL, the daughter of John and Hazel Stickle Fonger. She married James R. Polk on April 21, 1951, in Mattoon, IL, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1961. She worked in the dietary department of Oak Glen Home from 1978-1992.
Survivors include her daughter, Rose Rylander, Colona, IL; sons, Richard “Dick” Polk, Colona, IL, Roger Polk, CO, and Ronald (Catherine) Polk, GA; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Welcheon, Davenport, IA; brother, Lloyd (Jeanie) Fonger, East Moline, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son, Robert; 6 sisters; 3 brothers.
