Lula May Congdon, 89, of Moline, died November 16, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, 660138th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Eastern Star or New Hope.
Lula May was born March 13, 1920 in Shamrock, OK to Robert Lee and Bertha Jane (Lee) Davis. She married John O. Blair on January 1, 1940 in Unionville, MO. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1968. She later married Elmer Congdon on Feb. 13, 1971. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2006.
Lula May was worked in housekeeping at the former Moline Public Hospital and later was a private housekeeper. She was a member of the New Hope formerly known as the Moline Gospel Temple, Order of the Eastern Star #258 and Zal Caldron #4. She enjoyed embroidery, cooking and collecting plates.
She is survived by Daughters Verlee (Hal) Coggan of Huntington Beach, CA, Donna (Robert) Bailey of Vineland, NJ; 11 grandchildren,12 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren; Step-brother Lee (Dorothy) Davis of Moline and Step-sister Margaret Dunning of Chandler, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her sons John R. Blair and Lloyd Blair and 4 siblings.
