Madeleine A. Lambert, age 92, of Moline, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Amber Ridge Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2420-41st Street, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m., on Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is at Rose-Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church.
Madeleine was born December 3, 1919 in Greensboro, NC, the daughter of Henry and Mabel Stricker Hinck. She married David W. Lambert, the love of her life, on December 29, 1940 in Moline. He preceded her in death December 2, 1994.
Madeleine graduated from Moline High School in 1937. Following graduation she was employed as a secretary with John Deere. After marrying David she enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. She spent countless hours sewing, canning and cooking for her family. Once her children were raised she went on to work in the credit department at Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Moline, the Rock Island County Health Department and City of Moline Water Department. Madeleine was a current member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Moline, and a former member of Christ Episcopal Church in Moline, where she served on Vestry and the Altar Guild. She was a longtime volunteer at Lincoln-Irving Grade School in Moline. The last 50 years she enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Wisconsin, but most of all she loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David and brother, Henry.
Madeleine was proud of having lived independently until her 90th birthday; driving, shopping, attending church activities and caring for her many friends. She will be sincerely missed by all who knew her.
