Majel Allen, age 85, formerly of Moline, died Monday, June 16, 2008 at the home of her son in Port Orange, FL.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1611-41st Street, Moline with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Majel was born May 27, 1923 in Elizabethtown, KY the daughter of William and Celia (Fenstimacher) Deckard. She married John Allen on November 16, 1945 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death April 6, 1992.
Majel was voted "Best All Around Girl" at Viola High School She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church. Majel worked at the Clock Tower at the Rock Island Arsenal during World War II.
