Mamie L. Pittman

Mamie L. Pittman, age 68, of East Moline, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2601-15th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Lupus Foundation or Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Mamie was born May 17, 1945 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the daughter of Percy and Mary Atwater. She married Green Pittman in 1964 in Hayti, Missouri.
Mamie retired in 2002 from her job at Family Resources as a Domestic Violence Counselor for Abused Women. She worked for John Deere for 10 years as a Data Entry Clerk in the Billing Department. She has also worked as Lead Teacher at Rainbow-Skip-Along Day Care and as an Adoption Recruiter for the State of Illinois Minority One Church One Child Advocacy Program.
She has an Associate Degree in Child Development from Black Hawk College and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Western Illinois University. Currently she is the Church Secretary for Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a member of the Usher Board. Mamie enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling and her grandkids.
