Manuel Solis Ibarra, 78, formerly of Moline passed away on November 28, 2019 Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Per his families wishes services and burial were held in Mexico. A gathering for his family and friends is being held from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Fargo Lounge. This is located at 4204 Avenue of the Cities in Moline, Illinois. Esterdahl Mortuary is assisting the family with local arrangements.
Manuel was born on July 26, 1941 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico the son of Patricio and Rafaela. He married Rebecca "Becky" Scherer on March 22, 1972, she preceded him in death on September 29, 2018.
Manuel was employed with Swords Veneer & Lumber Co. while living in Illinois and employed by the University of Sarasota for a time in Florida. Along with being a hard working family man, he enjoyed gathering with friends and family meals and sharing stories of his past. He walked almost daily for his exercise and especially liked visiting beaches around Florida.
Survivors include his children; Carina (Kyle) Moore, Florida, Judy (Brian) Tousseau, Moline, Jaime (Angela) Solis, Bettendorf, Raul (Hannah) Solis, Moline; 22 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Siblings; Candelario (Martina) Solis, Raul (Lupe) Solis, Juan (Antonia) Solis, Clemente (Dalia) Solis, Maleno (Dianne) Solis, Gregorio Solis, Maria (Rodolfo) Ramos, Benito (Lorenza) Solis, Jaime (Rosa) Solis.
