Marcia D. Cox

Marcia D. Cox, 90, of Orion, passed away April 1, 2025, at Illini Restorative Care in Silvis.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday April 5, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Marcia was born on March 20, 1935, in Orion, Illinois, the daughter of Chester M. and Esther Sofia (Sundvall) Hogren. She married Mardis “Marty” Cox on March 19, 1965, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion, IL. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2010. Marcia had worked at the First National Bank in Moline and later at the Henry County Assessor’s Office. She worked part-time with her sister Marilyn, cleaning homes and businesses in the Orion area. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and active with the choir and LCW for many years.

Survivors include her children, Marcia (Michael) Crumley, Milan, and John Cox, Orion; grandchildren, Samantha (Matt) Hays, Milan and Alexandria (Kyle) Johnson, Milan; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Marvin (Judy) Hogren, Orion and Marshall “Howdy” (Alice) Hogren, Orion; many nieces and nephews including Laura Douglas and Lisa Stiles, both of Orion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Marilyn Hancock and Marlene Riceman.
