Margaret von Motz , 85 of East Moline, passed away on July 5, 2010 at Trinity Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 9th at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Estate. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Margaret was born on August 17, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of John and Estelle McKay Bormann. She married Harold von Motz in 1944 in Moline. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Margaret was employed as an LPN at St. Anthony's Hospital, then Lutheran Hospital and later at Americana Nursing Home. She was a member of the Kings Daughters and Homewood Evangelical Church where she did volunteer work and also a former member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing and reading.
Survivors include her children: Paul and Nancy L. von Motz of East Moline, Nancy J. von Motz of East Moline; David von Motz of Galesburg and Charlie and Kim von Motz of East Moline; a special niece Judy Sheehan; grandchildren Charlie and Cassandra von Motz, Dan and Courtney von Motz, Shelley and Deanna Aubry, Jenifer and Kevin Rodgers and Tim and Annie Bickford; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Mary von Motz of Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Paula Aubrey-Pruden, a grandson Brian, brother-in-law Clarence von Motz and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dorothy & Quintus Richards.
