Margaret A. Weller, 94, of East Moline, IL, died Friday, June 12, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at Peace Lutheran Church, 20828 Friedens Road, Port Byron, IL. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Friedens Lutheran Evangelical Cemetery Fund, Peace Lutheran Church, or to Victoria Trap, Neuter, and Return, 119 Concord, Victoria, TX, 77901.

Margaret was born on October 29, 1920, in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of John and Edith Glazier Hofstetter. She married Roland Weller on August 28, 1942, in East Moline, and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1969.

Margaret was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Byron, IL. She was living at Park Vista, where she started a card club, which met every Friday. Her apartment had an open door policy and became a gathering place. She enjoyed cooking and doing crafts.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy (Gary) Bonta, Victoria, TX; nephews, Kenneth (Marilyn) Hofstetter, Aikan, SC, Steve (Linda) Hofstetter, Osage Beach, MO, Dan (Kathy) Shoemaker, Mebane, NC, John (Eunice) Shoemaker, Durham, NC; many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; nieces, Susan Clark and Linda Schurvinski; brother, Glen (Maxine) Hofstetter; sisters, Georgia (Ben) Shoemaker and Shirley Hofstetter.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Golden and his nurse, Rita, the staffs of Illini Restorative Care, Genesis Medical Center - Silvis Campus, and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA, for their wonderful care and compassion.
