Margit R. Spurgetis, 83, of Rock Island, IL, formerly of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2013, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 31st Avenue, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 5 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
Margit was born on March 14, 1930, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Everett and Ruth (Krantz) Lagerquist. She married Steve Spurgetis on September 8, 1963, in Moline, IL.
Margit worked as the Circuit Clerk for the City of Moline. She was a member of the St. George Philoptochos Society, Moline V.F.W., and the Independent Order of the Vikings Club Clara Lodge, No.118. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Red Hat Club in Florida. Margit loved taking cruises and going to the beach. Above all, she was a wonderful wife and mother and will be missed by all.
