Marian Irene Brown

Marian Irene Brown, age 83, of East Moline, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Believers Together Building Fund.
Marian was born March 1, 1927 in Davenport, the daughter of Leonard and Irene (Werthman) Landers. She married Russell "Russ" Brown on June 1, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2008.
Marian was employed in the steno pool at the Rock Island Arsenal, and also as a secretary at J.I.Case. She was a 1945 graduate of Moline High School. Marian loved her ministries at Christ the King Catholic Church. She enjoyed her volunteer work for 12 years as a teacher's aide in kindergarten, and also at the Catholic Social Services for 3 years. Marian enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, especially to San Diego, and she collected carousels. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons, William Brown, Robert Brown, and Russell Brown, Jr. and brother, Eugene Landers.
