Marian Hill, age 91, of Rock Island, died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab Center, Rock Island.
Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Swedona Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. 1301-4th Street, Orion. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
Marian was born July 17, 1919 in Mercer County, IL, the daughter of Henry and Anna Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Johnson) Ferong. She married Roy Hill on September 12, 1947 in Freeport, IL. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1966.
Marian was employed as a secretary in Portland, OR, and later as a nurse's aide at Oak Glen Home. She was a 1938 graduate of Rock Island High School. Marian was a veteran of the Navy Waves, and the Women's Hospital Corp. She was a member of Coal Valley Presbyterian Church, and King's Daughters. Marian loved to play Bingo and shop second hand stores.
