Marilyn J. Johnson, 74, of Orion, died on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at University of Iowa Hospitals.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Orion United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. 1301 4Street, Orion. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. It was Marilyn's wishes that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a Humane Society.
Marilyn was born on August 16, 1937 in Moline, to Lucille Walker Grams. She married Arnold O. Johnson on May 31, 1958 in Moline.
Marilyn was employed with Deere & Co. as an Executive Secretary for 9 years and 9 months. She then was employed with Bank Orion for over 25 years retiring in 2002 as an Assistant Cashier and Compliance Officer.
Marilyn was a member of Orion United Methodist Church where volunteered for Basement Sales, Bake Sales, Senior Citizens Meals and in the office. She was an avid painter and enjoyed going on cruises and trips with her friends. Above all Marilyn loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren's sporting events.
She is survived by her husband of over 53 years; Arnold
