Marilyn N. Swanson, 84, of Rock Island formerly of Moline, died May 31, 2008 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11a.m. Monday, June 9, 2008 with visitation one hour prior to service time at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave.,Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Marilyn was born April 29, 1924 in Moline to William and Esther (Wenberg) Mueller. She married Alan L. Swanson in September of 1962. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1985.
Marilyn was employed at Deere and Company, Moline retiring as an executive secretary to the Vice President of Purchasing for 16 years. She later worked for two years at the Deere Trust Office.
Marilyn was a former member of First Lutheran Church, Moline where she sang in the choir. She was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. She was a member of the Kings Daughters Edith Hans Circle. She was a former member of Short Hills Country Club and 20th Century Organization.
She is survived by brother-in-law Carl E. and sister-in-law Blanche M. Swanson of Mesa, AZ, four nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her son Mark D. Swanson, sister-in-law Arline Wiese and her brother-in-law John R. Swanson, sister-in-law Arline Anderson - Swanson and her brother Richard Mueller.
