Marjorie Viola Aten, 84, of Moline, died December 25, 2005 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Moline or Oak Glen Home.
Marjorie was born November 16, 1921 in Moline to Carl and Effie Victoria (Peterson) Joelson. She married Leo Aten on January 30, 1943 at Bethany Baptist Church, Moline.
Marjorie worked at Eagle Signal during the summer of 1940. In the fall of 1940, she was employed at John Deere Jr. High School, Moline as the secretary to the Principle. She then worked for 13 years at John Deere Plow, Moline as secretary to the Director of Industrial Relations. In December of 1955, she left her employment to raise her family.
Marjorie was a member of First Baptist Church, Moline where she taught Sunday school and Bible school. She was formerly in charge of the Senior Fellowship. She was a member of Clara Lodge #118 Independent Order of Vikings.
