Marjorie M. Dempsey, 92, of East Moline, IL died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Amber Ridge Assisted Living, Moline, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church, 777 25th Avenue, East Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church where she was a member for over 50 years, Trinity Hospice, or In Touch Day Care.
Marjorie was born on February 11, 1920 in Sherrard, IL the daughter of Emil and Grace (Ogden) Mueller. She graduated from Sherrard High School in 1938 and then attended Business College. While in high school she taught Sunday School at Sherrard Presbyterian Church. She married Paul R. Dempsey on September 27, 1947 in Moline and he preceded her in death in December of 1992. Marjorie worked for Caterpillar in Peoria and later as the secretary at the Power House at John Deere Harvester in East Moline for 31 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of East Moline Legion Auxiliary and Local 865. She enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. She was an avid Chicago Bulls and Chicago Cubs fan. After retirement she and her husband wintered in Florida. They very much enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Shirley Kent and Darlene Johnson; brother who passed away at birth, Robert.
