Mark Allen Shay, 52, of Rock Island, died October 13, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Visitation and celebration of life will from 4-8 p.m.Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation or to the family.
Mark was born January 23, 1955 in Rock Island to Richard and Wilma Jean (Engels) Shay. He married Lana Marchisotta Swiss on November 17, 1983 in Las Vegas.
Mark was a dedicated manager at The Bedding Group in Rock Island where he worked joyfully for 24 years.
Mark loved boating and being on the river. He loved the "Sea Clusion" and the comradery of his boating friends and family. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, cooking, hunting, fishing, playing golf, watching NASCAR, feeding squirrels, birds, and deer, taking photos and working with his hands. He especially enjoyed watching his grandkids play soccer.
