Mary A Smith

Mary A. Smith, 71, of Moline, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, July 18, 2022, after a two-year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, July 22, 2022, at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 417 N Main St, Davenport, IA 52801.  Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, 6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL 61265.  Private family burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Mary was born on August 15, 1950, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Manuel and Leonor (Olvera) Juarez. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1968.  Mary married Steven Smith on September 1, 1973, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Davenport, IA. She worked as a paraprofessional for the Moline School District #40 for 25 years. After retirement she babysat her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities.

Mary enjoyed traveling, especially winters in South Florida. She also found joy in shopping, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Her infectious smile brought joy to everyone around her. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline and the Pinnacle Country Club.

Survivors include her husband; children, Chad (Laura) Smith, Stephanie (Troy) Noble; grandchildren, Jada Smith, Ashlyn Smith, Eli Noble, Dylan Clarke, and Kelsey Clarke; siblings, Joseph Juarez, Robert (Carmen) Juarez, Rev Rudolph Juarez, Richard (Sherry) Juarez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Manuel (Luana) Juarez.
