Mary H. Burchette

Mary H. Burchette, 81 of East Moline, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at her residence.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at the Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline.  The visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  The burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mary was born on May 25, 1942, in Greenwood, Mississippi, the daughter of Harvey and Mary Campbell Thompson.  She married Remus N. Burchette on May 8, 1971, in Chicago.

Mary started her career as a tax auditor for the IRS and retired from the Human Resource Department with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.  She was a member of the True Church House of Prayer to All Nations.  Mary loved to sing, bake cakes and enjoyed sewing and crafts.

She is survived by her husband, Remus; children; Joyce Simon, Vickie Walker, Ray Walker (Stephanie Moore), Antwan (Coretta) Burchette, and Antonio (CeCe) Burchette; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother; Albert Thompson; sisters; Emma Jean Cunningham, Betty Ann (Jesse) Robinson and Lena Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister; Ada Thompson; brothers; Campbell, Sonnie, Willie and Harvey Thompson.
