Mary Susan Drowns

Mary Susan Drowns, age 86, formerly of Milan, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 11:00-12:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Mary was born April 6, 1924 in Morrison, IL, the daughter of Charles "Chuck" E. Jacobs and Adelaide Earl. She married John Wilhelm on February 19, 1946 in Muncie, KS. He preceded her in death in 1968. She then married Jerry Drowns on December 31, 1976 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2008.
Mary was employed as a receptionist for Drs. W.G. Edwards, Cliff Myers, and Richard Gilson, and also for Churches United. She was 1943 graduate of Rock Island High School. Mary was a member of Memorial Christian Church in Rock Island. She enjoyed working in her yard, especially in her flower gardens. Mary liked listening to country music, and spending time with her family, her granddaughter, great grandchildren, and her dog, Cuddles.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, and great grandson, Ryan Buckwalter
