Mary Jane Moody, 85 fromerly of Orion died June 18, 2005 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at Andover Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or Oak Glen Nursing Home Auxilary. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Mary Jane was born January 22, 1920 in Rock Island to Charles and Ruby Kruse Oswald. She married Kenneth F. Moody on February 4, 1945 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2004.
Mary Jane was a graduate of Eureka College and taught at Ginger Hill School and many years at a two room school house in Swedona, grades 4,5, and 6. From 1969 to her retirement in 1982, she taught 3rd grade for the Sherrard school district. She and her husband lived and farmed in Andover. After they retired from farming they moved to Orion in 1989.
Mary Jane was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover where she had taught Sunday school, and the church's faith circle. She was also a member of Illinois Retired Teachers Association, and the Andover American Legion Women's Auxilary
