Mary M. Palmer, age 84, of Rock Island, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at River Park Health Care Center, Rock Island.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Mary was born September 4, 1923 in East Moline, the daughter of Tony and Elizabeth (Hogan) Frest. She married Clifford M. Palmer on September 7, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2004.
Mary was employed as a switchboard operator for the LeClaire Hotel, and also for Sears, Roebuck and Co. for several years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline where she was in the Altar & Rosary Society, Heavenly Dusters and helped with funerals and also in the garden. Mary enjoyed crocheting.
