Mary Paxton, 82, of Silvis, died January 7, 2009 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m Monday, January 12, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave. Moline. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mary was born December 9, 1926 in Winterset, IA to Lloyd and Ruth (Clayton) Snyder. She married Roy Paxton on March 18, 1944 in Winterset, IA. He preceded her in death in January of 1979.
Mary was employed at Illini Hospital for 11 years working in housekeeping. She later worked at Burger King, Davenport and the Walmart on Elmore.
Mary enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and cake decorating. She loved playing cards and bingo. She also loved spending time with her family. Everything she did was for the children and she was known by everyone as Grandma.
