Mary J. Sage

Mary J. Sage, 92, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, at her home.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and inurnment will be held at a later date at Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Illinois.

Mary was born on October 26, 1930, in Kirkwood, the daughter of Emmet and Nora Lee (Armstrong) Slagle. She married Fred E. Sage on August 15, 1949, in Fort Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2009. Mary was previously employed at Form Fit in Monmouth as a seamstress. She later worked at International Harvester, retiring in 1993, after 27 years. She loved going the the casino with her grandson and watching her great granddaughter Ronnie grow up.

Survivors includer her children, Vickie (Jim) Connell, Monmouth, Rick Sage, Moline; grandchildren, Tory (Jenny) Sage, Shannon (Nicole) Connell, Shane (Megan) Connell, Sean (Sarah) Connell; great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Jimmy Connell, Brooklyn and Logan Connell, Ronnie Sage, Devon Lobdell and Kharryn Dexter; great great grandchildren, Haleigh and Tillie Dexter, Asher Stonebraker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Diane; siblings, Mildred, Eunice, Ruby, Frances, Ruth, Shelby, Charles.
