Mary M. Bellson Selhost, 88, of Coal Valley died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Trinity Pathway Hospice at Trinity Bettendorf..
Rite of Christian Burial is 10:00 A.M, Monday, April 19, 2010 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 210 E. 22nd Avenue, Coal Valley, where she was a member. Visitation will be Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 2-5 P.M. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline with a Rosary Service at 2:00 P.M. Entombment will be at Riverside Mausoleum, Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Food Pantry.
Mary was born on January 24, 1922 in Rock Falls, Illinois to Louis Bellson and Carmen Bartolucci. As a youth she worked in her father's music store in downtown Moline. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School. Mary worked at the Moline Dispatch and lastly John Deere Plow and Planter Works, retiring on December 31, 1987. From June 1967 until December 2005, she gave over 7200 volunteer hours to Moline Public/Trinity Hospital working every Sunday afternoon in the hospital gift shop. Mary was active in church and community services. She was also a past member of the Paddlewheel Chapter ABWA.
Left to honor Mary's memory and examples are her daughters and sons-in-law: Pamela (Richard) Wilks, Royanne (Randy) Puebla, grandchildren Stacey Ruark, Andrew Gengler (Tara), Eric Puebla (Amanda), Maegan Puebla, Mark (Tracy) Wilks, Scott (Janelle) Wilks; great-grandchildren Josh, Amanda and Ashleigh Ruark, Taylor, Meghan and Quinten Gengler, Taylor Edwards, Greenley and Gracyn Wilks, great-great grandchildren Kaleb and Ryleigh, her sister Josephine (Phillip) Payne, brothers Tony and Henry Bellson, many nieces and nephews, especially Arnette Elam and Cathy (Dennis) Freisinger. She will be forever remembered for her dedication to her family, and friendship and kindness to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank and Louis Bellson, sisters Edith and Dee Dee and special sister-in-law Betty Selhost Mosley.
