Matthew A. Tyrrell

April 17, 1985 — March 9, 2008

Matthew A. Tyrrell, 22, of Moline, died Sunday, March 9th, 2008 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Celebration of Life services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Neurological Critical Care Unit at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Matthew A. Tyrrell was born to Andrew E. and Sharon L. (Farmer) Tyrrell on April 17th, 1985 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Matt graduated Moline High School in 2003. Upon high school graduation, Matt attended Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois and took additional classes at Blackhawk College in Moline. Matt was employed by Solo Direct Connect in Davenport, Iowa as a deployment coordinator and assisted in technical support for industrial and broadcast clients.
Matt was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and of University of Illinois football and basketball. Matt was also active in sports his entire life. He was a member of the Moline Soccer Club, Moline Little League and the Moline Basketball Association. Throughout his life he excelled in athletics and was a member of several traveling and select teams for the sports he enjoyed. He was also a member of the Moline High School Golf team for three years. After his school years, Matt continued to participate in league basketball and softball. Matt was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Moline.
Matt is survived by his parents, a sister Megan (Clayton) Kipp, Moline, Illinois, grandparents, Donna and Robert Pratt, Rock Island, Illinois, Juanita Farmer, Carbon Cliff, Illinois, aunts and uncles, Mike (Patti) Tyrrell, Phillips, Wisconsin, Amy (Ed) Rogers, Algonquin, Illinois, Linda Johnson, Carbon Cliff, Illinois, Jim (Cheryl) Farmer, Fenton, Illinois, and Marianne (Doug) Wisley, Fort Collins, Colorado along with twelve cousins that he deeply loved. His maternal grandfather, William Farmer and his paternal grandfather, Gerald Tyrrell, preceded Matt in death.
