Maxine L. Duncalf

Maxine Duncalf, age 95, formerly of Milan, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Maxine was born March 21, 1914 in Marion, IA the daughter of Albert and Clara (Houk) Raynor. She married Donald Duncalf on April 27, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Maxine was an outgoing, loving person who touched the heart of all she encountered in her 95 years. After raising four boys Maxine and her husband Donald work for years as volunteers assisting the needy and elderly with Project NOW. She and Donald were beekeepers in the Quad Cities area for 20 years. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all in the community. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Oak Glen Home/Hope Creek Care Center for the loving care they gave Maxine and her many friends who filled her last days with joyful association.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Private family burial is in Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to Silvis Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses or Hope Creek Care Center.
