Maynard F. Preston, 91 formerly of Moline, IL died Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Iowa Masonic Home in Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to service time at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. There will be a Masonic service at 12:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Moline Memorial Park, Moline. Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline or Heartland Hospice.
Maynard was born in Muscatine, IA on March 2, 1915 to Frank and Adeline Preston. He married Mary Neff in Muscatine on October 28, 1933. She preceded him in death in April of 1991.
Maynard retired from I.H. Farmall in 1975. He was a 33rd degree Mason of the Trio Lodge No. 57 AF & AM., Rock Island for over 50 years. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He also enjoyed talking on the CB radio. He was known as "Mr. Fix It" at Crosstown Square, Silvis.
He is survived by a daughter Linda Burns, a granddaughter and grandson, a sister and her husband Hazel and Frank Verfaillie, a brother-in-law, Robert Kollman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
