Melanie Sue (Beintema) Hicks

Melanie Sue Hicks, 65, of Moline, passed away, Friday, February 18, 2021, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  No services will be held at this time.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Melanie was born on July 20, 1955, in Rock Island, the daughter of John and Mary (Barbee) Beintema.  She married John Hicks and he preceded her in 1997.  Melanie’s boyfriend was Robert Sutton.  She volunteered for Animal Aid Humane Society in Moline.  Melanie loved watching Chicago P.D. as well as following both the Nightlife Band and Fran & The Country Gentlemen.

Survivors include her boyfriend, Robert Sutton; daughter, Leesa (John) Hebert; grandchildren, Gerry Delgado, Trevor Hebert, Ryana Hebert; siblings, Allison (Craig) White, and John (Nola) Beintema.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Hicks.
