Micheal B. Blade, 71, of Cambridge, passed away on November 29, 2023.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Valley View Country Club in Cambridge, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory in Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the funeral home in Orion. Interment will be at Grace Cemetery Osco. Memorials may be made to Grace Cemetery or Andover / Osco Fire Department.
Micheal was born on April 15, 1952, in Moline, IL, the son of Axel Bertil and Veryl (Larson) Blade. He was the owner and operator of Blade Trucking in Cambridge. He started the business 46 years ago. In high school, Micheal worked for various farmers. Micheal married Robyn J. Dybdal on December 4, 1980, in Las Vegas; she passed away on April 26, 2004. He loved, driving around, and hanging out at the shop. His pride and joy was his family, especially his grandsons. Micheal was a member of Valley View Country Club.
Survivors include his daughters Jessica “Short” (Brandon) Johnston of Sherrard, Ashley (Travis) Galle of Cambridge; grandchildren Camden and Graham Galle, and Noah and Bowen Johnston; brother Jim Blade of Melrose Park; special nephew Jake (Allison) Blade of Cambridge; great niece and nephew Adelynn and Jason Blade; significant other Teresa Edmund of Cambridge; and many other loved family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents Veryl and Axel, wife Robyn, and brother Jon Blade.
