Mildred Brandt

Mildred "Meem" Brandt, 89, of East Moline, died July 12, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at First Lutheran Church, 1230-5th Ave., Moline. There will be no visitation. Private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family. Mildred was born on March 22, 1921 in Moline to George and Thyra Swanson Lundquist. She married C. William "Bud" Horst on December 12, 1945 in Moline. He preceded her in death in September 1978. She then married Robert W. Brandt in May 1984. He preceded her in death in August 1999. Mildred graduated from Moline High School in 1939. She was employed as a secretary at Moline Tool Co., the Rock Island Arsenal, McKinley School, East Moline, and the Melin Agency, Moline. She was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church of Moline. She was also a member of the Edith Hans Circle of Kings Daughters.
