Myrna Hayne Horton, 70, of Rock Island, died February 14, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be 11a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Illinois Heart Association.
Myrna was born October 3, 1937 in Davenport to John and Martha (Dettman) Hayne. She married Jack Horton on September 30, 1968 in Rock Island.
Myrna worked for the former Eagle warehouse in Milan for 40 years. She coordinated and took in orders for all the Eagle stores.
Myrna was an avid bowler who belonged to many leagues. She was inducted to the Davenport Hall of Fame in March of 1978 and the Women's Bowling Hall of Fame of Iowa in March of 1992.She was also was the State Record Holder in Iowa. She volunteered at the Rock Island Public Library, Illinois Heart Association and Jr. Achievement with their
bowl-a-thon.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, children and family. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. Myrna loved going to her quilting classes and made beautiful quilts which she gave to her family. Myrna loved her dog Heine.
