Myron C. Mueller, age 89, of Aledo, formerly of Edgington, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Mercer County Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church, 18121-134th Avenue West, Taylor Ridge. Visitation is from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or The Rock Island County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship Fund. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Myron was born April 12, 1919 in Mercer County, IL, the son of Nicholas and Ruby (Fuhr) Mueller. He married Helen J. Council on June 10, 1945 in Williamsville, IL.
Myron was a farmer and cattle producer last working on the farm on October 15, 2005. He was a graduate of Aledo High School and the University of Illinois. Myron was a Captain in the Marine Corps during World War II, serving in the pacific for 2 ? years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was the treasurer and chairman of the Congregation and also taught Sunday school for 33 years. Myron was a member of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau and a member of the former Reynolds School Board. His love of cattle was life long, as he was a National Champion livestock judge in college and judged for years at many county fairs.
