Myrtle Danielson

Myrtle Danielson, 103, formerly of East Moline, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Allure Nursing Home, Geneseo, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be 1-hour prior at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.  Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, Port Byron or the American Cancer Society.

Myrtle was born on November 18, 1917, in Beresford, SD, the daughter of John and Marie (Stene) Hansen.  She married E. Kenneth Danielson September of 1939 at Dalesburg Church in South Dakota.  He preceded her in death in 1968.  She attended Messiah Lutheran Church, Port Byron, IL.  Myrtle truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Mary Jo (Jim) Doud, Silvis, Richard “Whitey” Danielson, East Moline, Elaine Foster, Moline, Lois Retzl, Davenport; daughter-in-laws, Roberta (nee McKenzie) Danielson, WA, Brigitte Danielson, Port Byron; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, & 6 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Marvin Danielson, Denton “Red” Danielson; daughter-in-law, Terry (nee Pervenanze) Danielson; son-in-laws, Jerry Kauzlarich, Carroll Foster, Dennis Retzl; and 7 siblings.
