Nancy J. Bahnks, 74, of Moline, died October 22, 2009 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at First Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or American Liver Foundation.
Nancy was born July 5, 1935 in Eureka, IL to Hubert and Christena (Johnson) Hendrix. She married William B. Bahnks on September 8, 1956 in Peoria. She graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in communications in 1957.
Nancy was an active member of First Lutheran Church, Moline where she was a member of the Eunice Circle and was a greeter. She was also a member of the 20th Century Women's Club and Rock Island Home Extension. She and her husband started the Q.C. Chapter of American Liver Foundation. They also started a scholarship in their daughter's name at Blackhawk College and Moline High School. In her earlier years, she was a Girl Scout leader and on the Logan PTA.
