Nancy M. Boehm, 78, of Prophetstown, IL, passed away on May 13, 2021, at Rock River Hospice Home in Sterling, Illinois.
A private memorial service will be held. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rock River Hospice Home, 2706 Ave. E, Sterling, IL, 61081, in Nancy’s memory.
Nancy was born on November 29, 1942, in Brentwood, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank and Irene (VanHulle) DeRocker. Her significant other, Richard Plautz preceded her in death on March 15, 2017. Nancy worked as a teacher in both Illinois and Wisconsin early in her career. Nancy retired from being a Physicians Mutual Insurance Agent and Holiday Travel representative. Throughout her Holiday Travel career, she led tours internationally as well as across almost all of the 50 states. Her favorite places to travel were Alaska and Hawaii several times a year. She also enjoyed the cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C. and the gardens in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Nancy became an avid Green Bay Packers fan while living in Wisconsin. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, working on craft projects, home canning, the outdoors, fishing, and gardening. Nancy was always there to help others in any way needed. She had moved back to Illinois in 2018 to be near family and close friends.
Survivors include her niece, Heather (Dave) Minssen of Prophetstown, IL; her nephew, Justin (Amy) Hardin of Orion, IL; her sister, Carol Hardin of Silvis, IL; her great nieces and nephews, Grant, Sydney, Jackson & Mason Minssen, Brayden & Adelyn Hardin; along with other relatives and friends.
