Nancy L. Carter, age 72, of Moline, died Friday, March 25, 2011 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. .Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial is at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the family.
Nancy was born April 17, 1938 at home in Alpha, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Annie Helena Martins Page, Jr. She married Wendell Johnson in 1956. They were divorced in 1975. She later married Walter E. Carter on November 26, 1986 in Woodbine, GA. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1993.
Nancy was employed as a cook, bartender and waitress at Howard Johnson's and later for Holmer's Bar & Grill. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Moline, Post #2153. She enjoyed listening to country music, Nascar, gambling, and spending time with her family and friends.
