Nancy A Jostand

Nancy A. Jostand also known as “Fancy Nancy” by her Hope Creek family, 88, of East Moline, formerly of Taylor Ridge, IL, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL, after a long battle with dementia.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Nancy was born on June 26, 1929, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Victor and Nora VanTuyle Bethurem.  Before beginning her family, she worked at Modern Woodman.  She married Stanley J. Jostand on September 11, 1948.  The couple lived in Taylor Ridge, IL.  Nancy resided at Hope Creek since October 2012.

The couple lived in Taylor Ridge, IL, where they raised the family.  Nancy was very involved with activities at the Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church, helping with church suppers, after school programs for kids and playing piano and organ when called upon to do so.

Survivors include her daughters and son, Sheryl (John) Pedersen, Bettendorf, IA; Melanie (Jim) DeRoo, Rock Island, IL, Debbie (Jeff) Sventek, Palmyra, VA, Jeff (Pam) Jostand, Ft. Meyer, FL, and Robyn Hoskins, Caldwell, ID; 9 grandchildren, Erin, Lesley, Angie, Brian, Megan, Andrew, Ashley, Kelsey, and Hilary; 14 great grandchildren, Darin, Katelyn, Austin, Olivia, Grace, Cohen, Evie, Gabby, Marley, Damon, Braedon, Rohen, Aubrey, and Sierra.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Jack Bethurem, Van Bethurem, Herbert Bethurem, and a sister, Marian Bethurem.

The family would like to thank Hope Creek for the wonderful care they gave Nancy for the many years she was with them.  Also, for Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., for being a huge help with all the final arrangements.
