Nancy Lee (nee Miller) Miner, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the age of 88 years. She was born September 30, 1934 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Lawrence A. Miller and Mildred A (Henry) Miller. Nancy’s life was filled with love for God, her children, grandchildren, extended family and dear friends. Along with being a precious child of God, Nancy was loving, devoted, independent, detailed orientated, musically talented, resilient, compassionate, generous, and had a great sense of humor. She worked professionally as a secretary and executive administrative assistant and as a homemaker with a passion for her “girls” and their families, education, cooking, baking, sewing, reading, music and the theatre. She was also a “professional” mover, as she managed the successful transfer of her family’s household multiple times across the US. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout, Girl Scout Leader, piano/accordion player, spiritual and emotional support leader through the BeFriender Ministry and Stephen Ministries Christian lay person programs and singing soprano in the church choir for every church she attended in IL, PA, AR, and MN.

Nancy worked her way through college while attending Augustana College in Rock Island, IL for two years and then the University of Illinois where she graduated in 1957 with a B.S. in Business Education and minor in English. After taking time off from her professional career to raise her daughters in their younger years, Nancy then worked as the church secretary at St James Lutheran Church and Executive Administrative Assistant for multiple organizations.

Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Linda (James) Spencer of Edwardsville, IL., Sheryl (David) Ringberg of Eagan, MN., and Karen (Dana) Peterson Fort Collins, CO.; nine Grandchildren, Matthew Spencer of Fredericksburg, VA., Thomas (Robyn) Ringberg of Prior Lake, MN., Margaret (Zachary) Arndt of Cottage Grove, WI., Stephan Spencer of New Bern, NC., John McLeod of Lakeville, MN., Katherine (Travis) Hammerbeck of Superior, WI., Jennifer (Corey) Filkins of Brainerd, MN., Sarah McLeod of Columbia MO., and Nicole Spencer of Worden, IL.; Sister-in-Law, Joyce Miner of Joliet, IL.; Brother-in-Law, Clark (Kate) Miner of Coal Valley, IL.; many Nieces and Nephews, their children and grandchildren; and numerous loving friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence A. Miller (1908-1994) and Mildred A. (nee Henry) Miller (1906-1951); and Step Mother, Genevieve K. (nee Henry) Miller (1916-2004).

Visitation 10-11 AM, Saturday, April 22, 2023 followed by 11:00am Funeral Service at St. James Lutheran Church 3650 Williams Dr. Burnsville, MN.

Additional Visitation will be 10-11 AM, Monday, April, 24, 2023 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL., followed by Interment in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline, IL.

Memorials are preferred to the St. James Lutheran Church Choir Fund.
