Nellie J. McKeag, 90, of Avonlea Cottage, Milan, IL, formerly of Lynn Center, IL, died Thursday, September 19, 2013, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2013, at Cable Community Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL. Burial will be at Homestead Cemetery in Rural Township. Memorials may be made to Cable Community Church.

Nellie was born on December 19, 1922, in rural Sherrard, IL, the daughter of John and Sadie (Hancock) Moline. She married Vernon McKeag on April 21, 1943, in Aledo, IL, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1998.

Nellie was a proud farm wife and homemaker. She also was a dietician at Oak Glenn for thirteen years. Nellie was a lifetime member of Cable Community Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher and Deacon. Her church family was precious to her. She also was a die-hard Cardinal fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Fred Moline and Bill Moline.
